A few weeks ago we celebrated our one millionth U.S. registered Smartphone user and announced that we have closed a $6.5M new round of venture funding. The round was led by the leading Israeli Venture firm Pitango Venture Capital and brings the total raised to date to $10M. Pitango Partner Eitan Bek has join our board of directors.
One million registered users is a big milestone for us, and it clearly shows we are the leader in mobile personal information management. We are thrilled to have Pitango as a great partner for us as they understand the potential of the market we’re addressing and they have been big believers in the mobile space since the beginning.Pitango has extensive experience in working with companies that have their technology team based in Israel and will help us become a household consumer name.
We also announced that Jim Scheinman has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. Scheinman was previously Bebo’s first employee and a member of the board of directors, where he played a critical role in its sale to AOL for $850M. In his role, Scheinman will be responsible for overseeing business strategy, business development, sales and marketing.
Mark Goines, former GM of Quicken/Intuit and early investor and board member of Mint, also joined us as an investor and advisor.
